Greetings
Our parents' generation ate to live, but in the past few years, the concept has become the opposite. Our generation has started to earn and live just to eat. In today's time, food shouldn't just fill your stomach but also should be upload-worthy. We want the food to look good, taste good, and should contain qualities of not making one fat even when consumed in bulk. Our lifestyles promote overeating which leads to obesity and a lot of other related issues.
So let's discuss why we end up overeating even we are sure that we want to shed a few inches.
PLEASURE
Eating at a good restaurant with friends and uploading pictures of the good-looking food feels really good, doesn't it? But that is one of the biggest reasons why we end up eating more than we want to and even more if you have a family waiting to eat dinner with you, you feel bad to refuse, so you eat just to keep them happy. Refusing to friends and family can be difficult, but just sitting with them while they eat is not a bad option, in fact, it will increase your own will power. So, please try to use NO for extra food more often, It is difficult but not impossible.
PRESSURE
'Taste it, at least' is something that we all hear the moment we think of following a diet. This is where self-control helps. Saying NO to eating when you don't wish to is a difficult task and if you can do that, you deserve a pat on the back.
SNOOZING EMOTIONS
Food can be an excellent way to snooze dealing with emotions. Just eating for 5 minutes can help procrastinate dealing with sadness or depression, which is unhealthy for the body and mind both. So we should try to deal with emotions as and when they come and not snooze them with food. This will improve our state of mind and will promote a healthy balance at work, relationships, and life as a whole.
NOT BEING BUSY
Not having enough work makes you go to the fridge again and again and again, which means every time you pay a visit to your beloved refrigerator, you end up eating biscuits or some other snack. So please spend some time to find a hobby for yourself, it will definitely help your health and boost your resume too.
REWARD
Chocolates or candies are a common way of rewarding children, I am sure you remember working extra hard for chocolate. This is a habit we developed over time and didn't stop actually. Even as grown-ups we haven't stopped rewarding ourselves with food. This is something that all adults need to work on. Instead of "I've had a rough day, let me treat myself with a pizza" we can turn it into "The rough cannot stop my workout routine" will surely help. It's the attitude we need to work on.
We can overcome this problem by simply refraining from doing the above-discussed list.
Power to you :)
HAPPY LIVING 💝
