THINGS TO AVOID IN A CONVERSATION

  Greetings 🌷

Have you ever been in a situation where you were held responsible for something you didn't mean to do or say? That is a difficult situation to handle. Well, here we will discuss a list of things we should make sure we avoid in a conversation.

We must take care of how the other person reacts to certain topics in order to build a conversation or even friendship in some cases.

Here is a list of things we should never ever joke about in a conversation:

1. SEXUALITY

This is a sensitive issue and we must think ten times before we say anything about it. Please do your homework even if you don't have anyone in your circle right now. But in the future, you most probably will come across someone and you don't want to offend anyone with your words. Few points that will help you while having a conversation with them:

  • When they reveal that they have a different sexual orientation than the generalized ones, you must reply in a calm tone.
  • Be normal. don't try to be over-supportive or otherwise
  • Treat them like an equal and only discuss this topic if they do
  • Ask questions respectfully

2. BAD EXPERIENCES

People go through a lot of experiences regularly, so it is expected from a grown-up to not joke about them. All experiences turn out to be some kind of learning in the end but the duration between the experience and the learnings differ from person to person. So it is our responsibility, as a friend, family, neighbor, or even a stranger to sit and listen without sounding rude in the form of humor.

3. CLOTHES

Clothes are no more just a piece of cloth to protect and hide our bodies. It has become a means of expression and a million-dollar industry. For some people, it is even their culture, and some haven't figured out their style. So let us not make someone's clothing the end of the world and show respect to everyone.

4. NOT KEEPING UP WITH THE LATEST TRENDS

We've all had someone in our lives, we had to teach technology, maybe a grandparent. And let's not forget, we will grow old too and lose the ability to keep up with new things regularly. So making fun of them or showing impatience is extremely rude and we wouldn't like being treated that way.

5. APPEARANCE

How we look is not a choice, it is something that we are born with or developed due to some illness or incident, so joking about it is not acceptable. Our views on someone else's appearance are really not required.

DISABILITIES

Joking about disabilities is offensive, period. When people are with disabled, they tend to become over-sensitive which can also come off as a negative thing too. So analyze the person and their needs and react to them and help them accordingly.

These were few points we must avoid joking about in a conversation, This will definitely help you become a more compassionate person. It will you become more balanced and make you more likeable.

Hope you like them, let me know your views in the comment section
